Este domingo, la prestigiosa Rondalla del Sector Educativo de Culiacán entregó al público del Teatro Ángela Peralta un ramillete de lo más conocido y celebrado en el repertorio de México y Latinoamérica como parte del último concierto de la Temporada de la Camerata Gordon Campbell 2018.

Fiel a su interés por crear espectáculos didácticos, el maestro Gordon Campbell dio una introducción sobre la naturaleza artística del programa y habló al público sobre esta agrupación de Culiacán que lleva su nombre porque, desde su fundación hace más de 24 años, está integrada por maestros de iniciación artística.

Compuesta por 13 guitarras y un chelo, la Rondalla del Sector Educativo ofreció un memorable espectáculo que no se vio afectado por  la aparente barrera del idioma pues  el público estadounidense disfrutó y aplaudió efusivamente todas  las interpretaciones.

Al calor de un repertorio que tomó al amor como su estandarte, las casi dos horas del espectáculo se escurrieron como agua entre las manos desde que apareció en el escenario por primera vez la rondalla e interpretó "Esta tarde vi llover" de Armando Manzanero.

Sin darse cuenta, el público se dejó envolver con la lírica de verdaderos himnos al romance latinoamericano, entre los que destacaron popurrís de canciones de Álvaro Carrillo y José Alfredo Jiménez, un bloque de huapangos mexicanos y un homenaje cantado a la compositora peruana Chabuca Granda.

Antes de continuar el espectáculo el maestro Campbell lanzó una invitación general al público a asistir al homenaje al jazzista norteamericano Dave Brubeck este jueves a las 20:00 horas en el Teatro Ángela Peralta durante la inauguración del Mazatlán Jazz Fest Chilo y al concierto de aniversario de la Orquesta Sinfónica Esperanza Azteca –Sinaloa, el domingo 11 de marzo a las 12:00 horas.

Fue entonces cuando la Rondalla del Sector Educativo regresó para fluir nuevamente junto a su público con el romanticismo de "Bésame mucho" de Consuelo Velázquez, crear una atmósfera llena de júbilo en "El son de la loma" del cubano Miguel Matamoros y demostrar su orgullo nacional en "Que bonita es mi tierra" de Rubén Fuentes.

Casi al finalizar el programa, los músicos añadieron su peculiar estilo a dos piezas de grandes íconos de la música nacidos en el puerto: un popurrí de canciones del inmortal Pedro Infante y la canción "El diccionario" del también mazatleco Fernando Valadez.

El líder de la agrupación Jesús Bernal Amador reconoció la labor que hace Gordon Campbell como promotor cultural en el estado y se tomó un momento para homenajear la memoria de su hermano José Bernal, quien falleció en junio del año pasado, y desde entonces éste ha sido el primer espectáculo que ofrece la agrupación.

A través de un emotivo popurrí de canciones mexicanas de Domínguez, Fuentes y Cervantes, la Rondalla del Sector Educativo se despidió con un público que decidió ponerse de pie y aplaudirles de manera  prolongada. Sin duda alguna, la escena más memorable de la tarde fue escuchar al público estadounidense gritando "otra".

Los músicos regresaron emocionados para ponerle la cereza del pastel a este espectáculo con la interpretación de "Como un día de domingo" del brasileño Manuel Sullivan.

The Rondalla of the Educational Sector closes the Gordon Campbell Season 2018 with a flourish

This Sunday, the prestigious Rondalla of the Educational Sector of Culiacan gave the public of the Angela Peralta Theater a bouquet of the most known and celebrated songs in the repertoire of Mexico and Latin America as part of the last concert of the Gordon Campbell  Season 2018. 

True to his interest in creating educational shows, maestro Gordon Campbell gave an introduction on the artistic nature of the program and spoke to the public about this  group from Culiracan that got its name because, since its foundation more than 24 years ago, it has been made up of teachers of artistic initiation.

Composed of 13 guitars and a cello, the Rondalla of the Education Sector offered a memorable show that was not affected by the apparent language barrier because the Foreign community enjoyed and applauded all performances effusively.

In the heat of a repertoire that took love as its banner, the almost two hours of the show slipped away like water between fingers once Rondalla appeared on the stage and played "Esta tarde vi llover" by Armando Manzanero.

Without realizing it, the audience allowed themselves to be enveloped with the lyrics of true hymns to Latin American romance, among which  a potpourri of songs by Álvaro Carrillo and José Alfredo Jiménez, a block of Mexican huapangos and a tribute sung to the Peruvian composer Chabuca Granda.

Before continuing the show, Campbell sent a general invitation to the public to attend the tribute to the American Jazz musician Dave Brubeck on Thursday at 8 pm at the Angela Peralta Theater during the inauguration of the Mazatlan Jazz Fest Chilo and the anniversary concert of Esperanza Azteca Symphony Orchestra -Sinaloa, on Sunday, March 11 at 12 noon.

It was then when the Rondalla of the Educational Sector returned to flow again with its audience with the romanticism of "Bésame Mucho" by Consuelo Velázquez, to create an atmosphere full of joy in "El Son de la Loma" by Cuban Miguel Matamoros and to show its national pride in "Que Bonita es mi Tierra" by Rubén Fuentes.

Almost at the end of the program, the musicians added their peculiar style to two pieces of great icons of music born in the port: a medley of songs by the immortal Pedro Infante and the song "El Diccionario" by the also Mazatlecan Fernando Valadez.

The leader of the group Jesús Bernal Amador acknowledged the work done by Gordon Campbell as cultural promoter in the state and took a moment to honor the memory of his brother José Bernal, who died in June last year, and since then it has been the first show offered by the group.

Through an emotional medley of Mexican songs by Dominguez, Fuentes and Cervantes, the Rondalla of the Education Sector said goodbye to an audience that decided to stand up and applaud them for a long time. Without a doubt, the most memorable scene of the afternoon was listening to the American public shouting "Otra!".

The musicians returned excitedly to put the cherry on the cake of this show with the interpretation of "Como un día de domingo" by the Brazilian Manuel Sullivan.
