Artwalk: Un recorrido artístico para promover la cultura

Este viernes se dio a conocer el programa de Artwalk, el camino del arte, un recorrido guiado a través de talleres y galerías del Centro Histórico de Mazatlán con el fin de promover las obras de artistas locales y extranjeros.  


En rueda de prensa celebrada en el Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlán se anunció que los recorridos  serán el primer viernes de cada mes e iniciarán el 3 de noviembre para continuar el 1 de diciembre, 5 de enero, 2 de febrero, 2 de marzo y concluir el 6 de abril.  Se visitarán 27 galerías donde mas que 50 artistas exhiben  sus obras y procesos creativos.


El recorrido consiste en un circuito integrado por calles que recorren el Centro Histórico de Mazatlán; este año se visitan 30 galerías que expondrán diversas obras de arte fino como: fotografía, joyería, gráficos, cerámica, arte digital, pintura y esmalte, por mencionar algunas. 


Trece años atrás, Artwalk nació a partir de la iniciativa de artistas plásticos y la artista estadounidense Glen Rogers, que radica en Mazatlán y ha mantenido su estudio desde el 2002.  El Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlán y asociaciones como Proyecto Centro Histórico han contribuido para el desarrollo de esta iniciativa.


Manry Fuentevilla, a cargo del proyecto Centro Histórico; Dora Ramírez, dueña del Bazar Gandarva; Eutiquio Valdez, artista local; y Miguel Ruiz, en representación de Casa Étnika, buscan expandir a través de este espacio la cultura que ya existe en Mazatlán, e invitan a todos los interesados a formar parte de esta experiencia y apreciar el trabajo de los artistas. 


Artwalk tiene una duración de seis meses y comienza este viernes 3 de noviembre, para continuar el 1 de diciembre, 5 de enero, 2 de febrero, 2 de marzo hasta el 6 de abril del siguiente año.

Artwalk: An artistic journey to promote culture





The press conference for this year’s Artwalk program, el Camino de Arte, a guided tour through workshops and galleries of the Centro Historico of Mazatlán to promote the works of local and foreign artists, was this am at 10 am.

At the Instituto de Cultura in Mazatlan, it was announced that Artwalk will be the first Friday of each month and will begin on November 3 to continue on December 1, January 5, February 2, March 2 and conclude on the 6 of April. It will visit 30 galleries where more than 50 artists exhibit their works and creative processes.

The route consists of a circuit composed of streets that run through Centro Historico of Mazatlan; this year the galleries and artist studios will exhibit various works of fine art such as photography, jewelry, graphics, ceramics, digital art, painting and enamel, to mention a few.

Thirteen years ago, Artwalk was born out of the initiative of fine artists and American artist Glen Rogers, who is based in Mazatlán and has maintained her studio since 2002. The Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlan and associations like Proyecto Centro Histórico have contributed to the development of this initiative.

Manry Fuentevilla, head of the Centro Histórico project; Dora Ramirez, owner of the Gandarva Bazaar; Eutiquio Valdez, local artist; and Miguel Ruiz, representing Casa Étnika, are seeking to expand the culture that already exists in Mazatlan with this project, and invite all interested parties to take part in this experience and appreciate the work of the artists.
