Magos, tragafuegos, gitanas y boas constrictoras armaron un ambiente de sorpresas constantes en un vibrante evento social y cultural organizado por el Ayuntamiento de Mazatlán y  el Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlán.

Bajo la dirección y producción general de Raúl Rico González, la dirección artística de la maestra Monserrat Millán, musicalización de Carlos Lizárraga y videos del departamento de Multimedia de CULTURA, la atmósfera fue una mezcla de ritual y jolgorio centrado en el árbol de la “Chalata” (Ceiba) símbolo de la inagotable vida del puerto con vistosas coreografías alusivas al espectáculo circense interpretadas por bailarines de la Academia de Danza Vilanova. 

Esta edición del Carnaval será un homenaje a los hombres y mujeres que con su creatividad e ingenio han nutrido la historia de la Perla del Pacífico y tendrá como estandartes las figuras de Pedro Infante, Lola Beltrán, Cruz Lizárraga Genaro Estrada, Martiniano Carvajal, Winnie Farmer, Enrique Alonso, Lupita Castro, José Ángel Espinoza “Ferrusquilla”, Ramón López Alvarado, La “Nana” Ramírez, Guillermo Sarabia, Rigo Lewis y otros distinguidos mazatlecos.

César Tulio Martínez Tirado, Fabián Ernesto Maldonado Cázares y Radamés, “El profe”  son los candidatos a Rey de la Alegría y “El Camarón” acompañará todos sus festejos debido al raigambre popular de este crustáceo en el sur de Sinaloa. 

Camila, Shuleyka y Gretel son las candidatas a Reina Infantil y sus festejos estarán representados por “El Pez vela” ícono del ocio creativo, el divertimento y los eventos llenos de espontaneidad.

Las candidatas a las máximas coronas del Carnaval Internacional Mazatlán  2018 serán Daniela López Caballero, Alexa Méndez Sarabia, Sofía Briseño, Mayrim Morales Miramontes,  Elsie Alejandra Muzquiz, Alejandra del Rosario Tirado Tirado, Jéssica Margarita López Salazar, Ana Paola Beltrán, Paola Estefanía Nordahl Macías, Brisia Carolina Tirado Martínez, Gabriela Lizbeth Cristerna Díaz y Naomi Elizabeth Tirado González. El Venado, símbolo de la toponímica y el valor natural de la geografía patasalada, será su emblema.

El Mango, símbolo de la fuerza creadora de la tierra, será el motivo que aludirá al cultivo de las artes en el Carnaval Internacional de Mazatlán 2018, uno de los grandes distintivos de las fiestas carnestolendas de la Perla del Pacífico en el mundo. 

Después de que acróbatas, bailarinas y mascarones gigantes ocuparan el centro de la pista, los candidatos fueron acompañados por Viviana y Rosina, Reina del Carnaval de Mazatlán y Reina de los Juegos Florales 2017; Ivanna y Aylín, Reina Infantil y Reina de la Poesía del 2017; y Jorge y Guillermo, Rey de la Alegría y Príncipe de la máxima fiesta porteña del 2017.

El cierre del espectáculo llegó al ritmo de la banda sinaloense cuando todos los protagonistas del festejo se trasladaron al kiosco de la Plazuela Machado junto a sus simpatizantes para gritar a los cuatro vientos que “Patasalada: El circo de los talentos”, llenará de magia y alegría la ciudad durante las festividades del Carnaval Internacional  Mazatlán 2018.

Welcome to "Patasalada: El Circo de los Talentos"!

This Thursday, the cheerful spirit of the Carnaval Internacional Mazatlan 2018 took the stage of the Angela Peralta Theater with the presentation of the candidates who will compete for the crowns of the giant Mazatlecan fiesta that in its 120th edition will be called "Patasalada: El Circo de los Talentos" (Patasalada means “salty feet”, an expression used for Mazatlecans).

Magicians, firefighters, gypsies and boa constrictors created an atmosphere of constant surprises in a vibrant social and cultural event organized by the City of Mazatlán and the Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlan.

Under the direction and general production of Raúl Rico González, the artistic direction of maestra Monserrat Millán, the musicalization of Carlos Lizárraga and videos from the department of Multimedia de CULTURA, the atmosphere was a mixture of ritual and fun centered on the tree of the "Chalata "(Ceiba) symbol of the inexhaustible life of the port with colorful choreographies allusive to the circus shows, and performed by dancers of the Vilanova Dance Academy.

This edition of the Carnaval will be a tribute to the men and women who with their creativity and ingenuity have nurtured the history of the Pearl of the Pacific and will have as banners the figures of Pedro Infante, Lola Beltrán, Cruz Lizárraga Genaro Estrada, Martiniano Carvajal, Winnie Farmer , Enrique Alonso, Lupita Castro, José Ángel Espinoza "Ferrusquilla", Ramón López Alvarado, "Nana" Ramírez, Guillermo Sarabia, Rigo Lewis and other distinguished Mazatlecans.

The Venado, the symbol of the toponymy and the natural value of the patasalada geography, will be their emblem.

The Mango, a symbol of the creative force of the earth, will be the motive that alludes to the cultivation of the arts in the International Carnival of Mazatlán 2018, one of the great distinctions of Carnaval parties of the Pearl of the Pacific in the world.

After acrobats, dancers and giant masks occupied the center of the stage, the candidates were accompanied by Viviana and Rosina, Queen of the 2017 Carnaval of Mazatlan and Queen of the 2017 Floral Games; Ivanna and Aylín, Child Queen and Queen of Poetry of 2017; and Jorge and Guillermo, King of the Joy and Prince of the biggest fiesta in the port of 2017.

The closing of the show came to the rhythm of Banda Sinaloense when all the protagonists of the celebration moved to the kiosk of the Plazuela Machado next to its supporters to shout to the four winds that "Patasalada: The Circus of Talents", will fill the city with magic and joy during the festivities of the Carnival International Mazatlan 2018.
